branch boundaries

Where we actually cover is often a topic of hot debate (no, seriously). Is it based on postcodes - the method used to determine branch membership numbers - or does it follow specific national, county, district and parish boundaries? Well, the answer is probably more the latter but there are grey areas. If you wish to lose the will to live then read on.

In England it's relatively straight forward. Everywhere in Chester District and  Ellesmere Port & Neston is ours except for Willaston, Neston and Parkgate (which Wirral Branch see to).

In Wales it's more fiddly. All of Wrexham County Borough is ours. We also, for reasons lost in the mists of time, oversee a small section of Denbighshire - specifically the towns and villages of Llangollen, Rhewl, Llanarmon-yn-Ial, Llandegla, Graianrhyd, Eryrys, Maeshafn, Loggerheads and Llanferres. Finally, as for Flintshire, our mucky paws stretch out west and north as far as Cadole, Gwernaffield, Mold, Soughton (but not Northop or Northop Hall), Alltami, and Connah's Quay up to Golftyn. Everywhere else in Flint is administered by Vale of Clwyd Branch who also survey Mold for Good Beer Guide purposes.

Nonsensical? You bet it is.
