on death row ?

In
common with the rest of the nation, locally there are plenty of pubs -
good, bad and indifferent - with uncertain futures. Closed, boarded up
or derelict, what fate awaits them? A new licensee in thrall to a
greedy pub co? Conversion to an Indian restaurant, coffee shop or private house?
Further years of abandonment, rot and decay? Demolition and
redevelopment? Or maybe, renaissance under wealthy new owners with
an entrepreneurial eye.
Whatever,
here's our mob
with the proverbial sword of Damocles hanging over
their heads. Any new additions or updates please contact the pub's
officer. For those pubs that have gone forever, see below under Lest
We Forget.
PS
You also may like to visit the totally CAMRA independent Lost
Pubs of Chester website. This is a work in progress where the
webmaster is keen to hear from anyone with contributions and pictures
(treated with great care, scanned and returned) of hostelries no
longer with us, in addition to names and reminiscences of their
licencees and clientele. All contributions will be fully credited -
or, if particularly scurrilous, anonymity will be guaranteed!
