What's this page about?

We often make use of internet material for badge work. Sometimes the pages we find are really useful and we think that you might also want to have a look.

If you find any other links that could be included here, please let us know.

If you want to know what badges you can work towards, have follow the Badge Zone link on the web site.

Buxton Weather: Everyone in Buxton should know this site. check out local weather and weather statistics

Astronomer Activity Badge

Astronomy Badge

Stellarium: Stellarium is a free open source planetarium for your computer. It shows a realistic sky in 3D, just like what you see with the naked eye, binoculars or a telescope. You can install it on your PC and find out about thousands of stars, the planets and constellations.

Satellite flybys: Find out when satellites are visible from Buxton. Look out for when we can see the International Space Station. The International Space Station is the biggest, brightest object orbiting Earth. The station's solar arrays span 109m from tip to tip, it is 51m wide, which makes it about the same size as a full-sized football pitch. The ISS outshines Venus; only the Sun and Moon are brighter.
