On Saturday May 17th we visited the Chestnut Centre at Chapel-en-le Frith. The visit followed on from a talk to the Scouts the previous Monday night on otters, owls and owl-pellet dissection by Rebecca from the Chestnut Centre.

We were lucky to see deer, and very fortunate to be there at feeding time for the otters (thanks to Rebecca for arranging this)

These two ...

... kept this lot entertained for ages!

After lunch and a quiz, we were put to work.

First we gathered twigs ...

(although some needed help deciding what was meant by "twigs"!)

... then we took the twigs ...

.. to make the bugingham hotel and the smaller bugalow.

We finished the day with an investiture for one of our new scouts.

Many thanks to the Chestnut Centre for an excellent day out.
