As part of our preparation for the Border Hike, we went for a hike starting from the Goyt Valley, up Shining Tor along the ridge to Cats Tor and Windgather Rocks and then down back into the valley along side Furnilee Reservoir. A distance of around 12km.

The scouts were given a series of map references, that they had to plot on their maps.
Once the route was sorted, we were ready to start the walk
We had to make sure we were heading in the right direction
After the climb up to shining Tor, some Scouts felt the need to dig into the emergency rations!
