The Border Hike Competition is a challenging competitive hike for members of the Scout and Explorer sections of the Movement.

In recent years, teams from 3rd Buxton have managed to come second in 2007 and 2009.  This year our very young Scout group entered one team, and we were joined for the weekend by a team of Buxton Centurion Explorers, who are all ex-Harpur Scouts. The Explorers team were entered in to the John Bradbury Trophy competition. This competition for explorers runs alongside the Border Hike competition, over a slightly longer course with an added section of orienteering.

This year there was an added competition for local teams, for the Johanna Knowles Memorial Trophy, awarded to the highest placed local team in the Border Hike.

Well done to the Scout team for winning the Johanna Knowles Memorial Trophy. They also gained valuable experience and will be looking for a higher placing in next year's Border Hike.
