FridayWe are doing the Astronomer badge, and hoped to be doing some star-gazing. But the weather on Friday night was cloudy and wet (Nimbostratus, overcast and moderate breeze - we are also doing the Meteorologist badge). Instead we did some indoor star gazing.
The software we used was Stellarium. It is available as a free download from http://www.stellarium.org/ SaturdayOn Saturday we were joined by the Beavers. They made pop-bottle rockets, while we prepared an assault course for us to do with the Beavers. After the assault course we did a wide-game, trying to find the sticks of gun-powder hidden (in the woods) by Guy Fawkes. After tea we went to the Camp fire for songs and fireworks.
SundayIn the morning we did a pioneering project, trying to light a firework form the other side of a "river". With some help from an unexpected drought (which made the "river" quite narrow) we managed to light the firework. Just before going home, we invested four of our recent recruits into the Scout troop.
