Easyfundraising Raise funds for 3rd Buxton Scout Group while you do your online Shopping . . . And it Doesn't Cost a Penny!!!
Web ChangesThis is the web site for 3rd Buxton (Harpur Hill) Scouts. 10th April 2007 - The Harpur Hill Scouts Web pages were first posted. It all started with photos from the Gradbach hike in February 2007. Since then we have added programme information and you can now access letters and forms directly from the web site. In September 2007, a new Information Section was created. This has allowed us space to put information on uniform, contact details, and in future we may include other information such as kit advice, policies on activities and joining information for new Scouts.
January 2008 - The Events page was also changed to divide events by year and to make the most recent event appear at the top of the page. November 2008 - The Web pages have been re-structured. You won't notice any difference unless you had links to particular events pages, in which case the addresses have changed. I am sorry if it caused any inconvenience, but the changes make it much easier to keep track of the page names for events. May 2009 - The 3rd Buxton Scouts Logo has been improved. As well as an improved Solomon's Temple it has a better (and clearer) knot - it now looks like a reef knot rather than a granny knot! June 2009 - started to use Picasa Web albums to allow more photos to be accessed on line. February 2010 - considering a complete re-fresh of site. Click here to see sample of possible format March 2011 - I may get around to the full site refresh one day, but in the mean-time, I've added a new page called "Badge Links". This is intended to provide useful links that we've come across when preparing material for Scout meetings (mainly badge activities) and we think the Scouts may be interested to see what else is there. March 2011 - For sometime, I have wanted to use Twitter or something to allow me to post notices at short notice, with out actually updating the whole web site. I have now as a trial added a twitter feed to the front page, showing just the last twitter entry, with an invite to "follow us on Twitter". This means, for example, that if a hike has to be cancelled we can post the cancellation notice via mobile phone if necessary. |
