On July 16th 3rd Buxton (Harpur Hill ) Beavers, Cubs and Scouts got together
for a Group event.
The plan was to have a wide game on Grinlow, and hot-dogs in the car park
afterwards.
It rained heavily all day, the only real question was how far up Solomon's
Temple would the high-water-line be when we got there.
Then the rain stopped ... and the wide game
commenced.
 |
The idea was to collect numbered carrots
 |
"Captain Carrot" was taking it all
very seriously.
 |
Once your team had carrots worth 10 points
you had to trade them in for ribbon tokens.
The team with the most ribbons won.
In fact it was a dead heat between two of the teams. So, we had a tie break carrot
hunt which Team 4 won. |
But that came after the hot
dogs.
 |
To finish off the evening prizes were given out, and
boxes of "Heroes"
were presented to our own heroes: the Beaver Cub and Scout leaders.

|
That's the last meeting now until September. But keep an
eye on the Web site for information on Summer holiday hikes (towards the
end of the holidays), and news from the Summer camp. |
