About Us

Rod Haven, Driver

Rod started rallying in the 1970's when he was in his early twenties using Mk1 Escorts (Twin cam and RS200). He was mainly competing in road rallies, which were very popular back then, but he also did a stage rally, the 1976 Tour of Dean which was a R.A.C british championship round.

He retired from rallying in 1977 had to deal with some of lifes other challenges, like marriage, home owning and the patter of tiny feet (that would be me Kevin).

When said boy grew up Rod went back to his former passion, and bought a Mk 2 Escort, which was strip dow to a bare shell and reprepared for stage rallying. The car was finished in 1998 and has been used on tarmac rallies up to present day. The car has had plenty of modifications during these years.

Kevin Haven, Navigator

I started rallying with my father at the age of 16, doing local single venue rallies. I started to do higher profile events like the rallies over the epynt ranges. We did numerous tarmac events over the first 5 years.

Then in 2003 in I did couple of rallies with another young local driver Gareth Nutt in a Mk1 Escort. We then went on to do the Peugeot 205 Challenge during 2004 and 2005, which allowed me to compete on gravel events using forest roads.

In 2005 we finished runners-up in the 205 Challenge and won the fastest stage times league. Which awarded us with a part funded Ice-driving trip to sweden.

In 2006 I competed on my first international rally, the Rally Isle of Man. This rally used tarmac roads that are closed to the public. Sitting with Driver Daniel Boardman from Preston, and his 1300 Group N Suzuki Swift, we managed to finish 1st in class and 29th overall.
