National Viola and Pansy Society Newsletter Autumn 1997

Kings Heath.

As part of Birmingham Gardeners weekend, the Society mounts a small show and display. This year both exhibits and exhibitors were in very short supply. Gerald Barber put in a tremendous amount of time and effort, and he may be left to wonder if it was at all worthwhile. Sunday's downpour brought proceedings to a sorry end! Pat Tipping retained the Ted Hazelton Trophy with the most points overall while I'm told that Chico White made a concerted effort to brighten things up with some sartorial elegance that made little or no concession to the weather.

Such displays should enhance the image of the Society, and in this light our continued attendance may well be questioned.
