(Exhibition) Viola 'Betty Dale'

viola 'Betty Dale'

Raiser: Unknown
Year: 1960's?

Colour: Heliotrope with a white centre.

General: A striking and much admired variety which is always in demand. The depth of colour appears to fluctuate mid-season, becoming much paler and receding. The blooms have substance and do not require much dressing, making them suitable for either vase or board.

Cultivation: Has responded well to pot culture, producing quite bushy plants and thus a good crop of cuttings. High temperature or excess shading may induce the colour fading.
