Viola ''Etain''

Another very popular variety, alas not easy to propagate up here in Scotland - it may be another southern-bred variety, with more pansy than suits our cool northern climate.

v. 'Etain'

Larger than average flowers (45 mm) of striking appearance. Lower petals deep yellow with orange eye, but upper petals are paler yellow; all petals with a uniform edge of lavender. All held erect on strong stems, highly scented and always attracts comment – said to be Geoff Hamilton’s favourite viola.

It should NOT be confused with Helen Dillon, which is much paler.

One of the largest commercial propagators in England unfortunately mis-supplied plugs to nurseries as Etain and "Janet" which were, we believe, "Elizabeth".
