| Another very popular variety, alas not easy to propagate up here in Scotland -
it may be another southern-bred variety, with more pansy than suits our cool northern climate. | |
|
Larger than average flowers (45 mm) of striking appearance. Lower petals deep yellow with orange eye, but upper petals are paler yellow; all petals with a uniform edge of lavender. All held erect on strong stems, highly scented and always attracts comment – said to be Geoff Hamilton’s favourite viola. It should NOT be confused with Helen Dillon, which is much paler. One of the largest commercial propagators in England unfortunately mis-supplied plugs to nurseries as Etain and "Janet" which were, we believe, "Elizabeth". |
