Biography:
Always been interested in all aspects of flight, especially helicopters. Bought a powered glider a few years ago for the kids and spent most of the time repairing it.
Saw a demo of model helicopters on the web and thought that it might be a challenge. Bought a Caliber 30 (not having a clue what it was all about), built it, crashed it, rebuilt it, crashed it again, managed to hover then backed it into myself in the back garden and nearly broke my knees.
Got the bug and decided that it wouldn’t beat me and went for flying lessons in Swindon. Was told that I had the potential to learn to fly well and went from there. Joined the club, got loads of help and advice and fell totally in love with the sport.
Learned my first valuable flying lesson… join a good club and get some help. One year on, I still need and get that help but love it more and more. The buzz I get from mastering something is amazing.
