Diary.....

19/01/2005
Well today was confidence day! I knew that I just had to get back to what I was doing before the crash and was determined to crack most of it before I finished another can of fuel. Arranged to spend a couple of hours up there with Daren and after many deep breaths and some typical "coaxing" from Daren, I went for it. It happened. I found that my circuits on the right hand side were back but it did take a lot of bottle to get the left hand ones to match. It has started though and I even managed a couple of (poor) stall turns. Then right at the end (isn't that always the case), mechanical failure caused the heli to dive straight into the dirt. Investigation showed that it was not my flying skills but a shattered servo arm meant I was unable to roll at all. Damage report: New Main Shaft and new servo arm. I don't think that my confidence will take another battering as I know that this was mechanical and not operator error! Time will tell!
