FONT SIZE If your browser fonts appear to be too large or too small, for Internet Explorer, select Edit/ View/ TextSize. The options are Largest, Larger, Medium, Smaller and Smallest. Medium is usually the default. For Netscape users, goto Edit/ Preferences/ Appearance/ Fonts then check the appropriate option.

MIDI MUSIC If the midi music is not played, you might need to select a default player. Select Windows Media Player is an option. Goto Start/ Programs/ Accessories/ Entertainment/ WindowMediaPlayer. Select View/ Options.../ Formats Check the MIDI box or SelectAll if you prefer Window Media Player as your default player for the listed formats.

CHANGE MUSIC If you prefer to have another piece of music playing instead of the current one. Select a piece from MusicBox of the main left panel.

Is your USB Optical Mouse jumpy?

If a user complains about their USB optical mouse behaving strangely (e.g. jumpy or unexpected behaviour) then try the following solution. It's likely the mouse is fine, just Windows fault. Here's a quick fix:

1. Export/Back up the current entire registry (IMPORTANT)

2. Run regedit under HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE search for the following three items mainly to remove identical redundant entries

In the right pane, view the DriveDesc line. If the information to the right of the DriveDesc line describes the problem mouse, DELETE only that subkey.

Mouse Construction:

The mouse has either 2 or 3 sensitive rollers. A vertical roller, a horizontal roller and the better ones have a pressure roller.
Remove the ball by turning upside down and turning the large cap counter-clockwise until you meet resistance. This is a delicate instrument so be gentle. Turn right side up and the weight of the ball should dislodge the cap and the ball.
You should have a cavity that the ball fits in and the rollers should be in view. Put under light to get full view of the mechanisms that make the mouse work.
To reassemble: place ball in the cavity, place large cap on top and screw clockwise to lock in place about 1/8 of a turn. Don't force, you'll feel resistance. That's enough.

Problem:

A mouse on a Desk top, Pad or Paper will collect dust, lint, paper follicles and other substances. We do not live in an antiseptic world. Therefore cleaning your mouse is necessary occasionally or you can buy a new one, get what you think are better pads for the mouse to ride on or other alternatives that really don't improve your mouse performance. IT ONLY TAKES 5 MINUTES WHEN YOU KNOW WHAT YOU ARE LOOKING FOR. Mine worked like brand new after cleaning and removing the roller obstacles. Mouse is jerky and erratic when used.

Remove ball. Wash with clear water only and dry thoroughly. Solvents may deposit a film or glaze on the ball that may transfer to other mechanisms.
Visually inspect all rollers under a good light and/or magnifying glass for deposits of grit, lint and other foreign substances. Even small specs are like two inch rocks on a highway every 2 feet.
Vacuum the socket is desirable, or blow with an air device as a second choice. Blowing with your mouth may deposit saliva so be careful using this method as any saliva or Oil may act like a glue and give you fits in the future. Use needle point tweezers to remove stubborn lint.
The main reason for poor mouse performance, is that some particle has lodged on your roller. Even minute particles will cause the roller to skip. Inspect all rollers 360 degree turn. Remove any foreign deposits with your tweezers by gently dislodging them and picking them out of the cavity if gravity isn't enough to remove foreign stuff. Remember the rollers may have a grip layer or cover that has the potential of being damaged with your cleaning process so be careful.
If you must use a solvent, get the best grade of Alcohol you can find and with cue tip, wash the rollers sparingly or enough to remove the object that is causing resistance and hopefully the manufactured roller layer is not damaged from the alcohol.
Make sure all the rollers move freely and are clean before reassembling.
