Hello! I am Hickory smith, Thank you for stopping at my page, I got my first guitar when I was 11yrs old, I still own it and play it regularly. I did spend a few quid getting it refreted and so on, and I play it on “Mugs Away”, an anti war song I wrote. My greatest love is music. However I have not had time to play what I wanted to in my musical career, I was to busy pleasing the audiences in "clubs" and more clubs, it is my living (or was) In October 2000, I was rushed into hospital seriously ill, bleeding to death internally and given little hope to live. I had to stop all my gigs and I could hardly walk for a couple of years, let alone work, I was so weak. However I slowly recovered. The doctors are amazed that I lived! Anyhow here I am! 7 years on. I have spent the last seven years writing music If you would like to listen to or download my first song Pandora’s Box, feel free to do so. I dedicate this song to the people of New York, and the rest of the World, including myself, left with the horrendous memories of 9/11/2001 Please have a listen... There is about five free downloads of various songs of mine on this site and the downloads are free, so save the songs and play them, but PLEASE let me know if you wish to record any, obviously for copyright reasons, to safeguard my work. I could never have imagined myself writing another protest song, having lived the life I have lived!! But I had to write this song to try and stop or even deter, 18yr old kids, being tempted to join the army! By making it look like paintball shooting range at a holiday camp!

With the showing of silly films like “Jar Head” and TV propaganda aimed at what I now call kids, I think the minimum age for combat should be at least 21. In the UK and the USA, you cannot drink alcohol until you are 21ys old ANYWHERE in the States! I hope you like the song, It is called Mugs Away and I play my old guitar I got when I was 11yrs old, a bass guitar and one maraca, it sounds like a lot more! So I hope you will listen to it!
