Old Homosassa, a small rural settlement, is situated on the Gulf Coast of Florida about one hour north of Tampa. It is located adjacent to the picturesque Homosassa river which flows a short distance to the sea. The river is fed by a fresh water spring which flows from Bluewater at Homosassa Springs, and is inhabited by the famous Manatee at certain times of the year.
The area is a quiet woodland relaxed retreat and is but a short distance away from all the facilities and attractions that Florida is famous for. The whole local area is crisscrossed with waterways leading to the Gulf. Fishing for trout or Manatee spotting are great pastimes here and easily accomplished.
There are so many Golf courses within easy reach.
