Hope08 Coffee Stalls
Our first step into the community for HOPE08 begins on Saturday February 9th when we set up a stall in the Town Hall piazza to serve FREE cups of fair trade coffee & tea. We also want to give away biscuits and sweets. The aim was to let people know about Hope08 and to speak to People from Brackley about what they hoped for the Town and Community. We ask them, if they want to express their wishes could they write a comment on a card for us to display. These stalls are open from around 10am till 12 midday. Please drop by.
We are planning 3 more Saturday Coffee Stalls before Easter.
Hope at Easter
Easter is a time to realise Hope and We want to celebrate this Hope in our community . At the Good Friday outdoor service in the Town centre (March 21st) we will be letting people know about the Easter message of hope and also giving away mini Easter eggs and balloons for the children. On Easter Monday in the afternoon we are planning an outdoor recreational activity (weather permitting!!)
Hope for those in need
Other stuff we are planning includes working with other agencies helping to support needy people groups both locally and oversees.
We don’t just want to give our money we want to give our talents and our time so that people see that we really do care about them.
Hope in Schools
We are looking to do more schools based work with the help of the Christian Group (CU) who meet in Magdalen College School. This has the potential to reach hundreds of young people with the message of Hope. Ideas already at the planning stage include a summer music event and opportunities to volunteer help in the community.
Hope on the street - Acts of Kindness
We will also be running local projects over the May Bank holiday that show ‘Acts of Kindness’.
We are joining hundreds of other projects throughout the nation hoping to amount one million hours of kindness to our communities.
