The next time I saw Howard live was at Stalybridge in Cheshire, on the 11th August 2000. Stalybridge is only 3 miles from where I live and I never dreamed Howard would play so close to my home. It was a Renaissance Arts Festival to celebrate the Waterways of Britain. It was staged in a marquee. Howard played an acoustic set with just himself and Robin Boult. It was a very intimate concert, in fact it was like having Howard in your living room! We arrived about an hour before the concert was due to start and saw Howard rehearsing through the back of the marquee, and we got a wave from him.
