Minutes of Hullbridge Parish Council Youth Provision Committee meeting held on Monday 19 November 2007

Present:            Cllrs. Miss A. Marriott, Mrs. W. Stevenson and PC S. Judd, PCSO L. Merrell

Apologies:            Cllrs. R. Horwell, M. Hoy

Election of Chairman:  It was agreed that Cllr. Mrs. W. Stevenson was to be Chairman of this Committee.

Minutes of meeting held on 29 November 2005 that had been approved at a previous meeting were signed.

Discussion with PC Judd and PCSO Merrell: a long discussion followed which covered a number of proposed projects for young people.  It was agreed to wait the minutes of the CDRP meeting held on 12 November 2007, which would include proposals for an action plan.  When these were available further consideration would be given to possibly making a financial contribution if necessary.  PCSO Merrell stated that she proposed recommencing the Friday evening trips for some of the young people.  She was requested to submit her proposals to the committee so that consideration could be given to funding the transport.  PC Judd and PCSO Merrell were thanked and left the meeting.

Budget 2008/09:  it was agreed to propose a budget of £900 for the forthcoming year.  With regard to the £4200 ringfenced funds it was agreed to move the £500 put aside for a Best Young Citizen Award to a fund to finance CDRP action plan.  £2700.00 would remain for repairs to the BMX track and the £1000.00 to remain to fund trips for the young people.  It was recommended that any unspent funds for the current budget be added to the ringfenced CDRP action plan.
