Minutes of meeting of Emergency Committee held on Wednesday  28 May 2008

The Emergency Committee met with CCTV contractor Martin Hodson of Peak Security Limited to view the images captured on the system that monitored Pooles Lane car park.

There are currently 8 cameras linked to a digital system giving various views of the area.  The Committee viewed recorded night images captured by the system and discussed with the contractor how the system could be improved.

The contractor was requested to provide a quotation for 10 new cameras, colour by day and black/white by night and new digital recording equipment that would give broadband access if required.

This matter would be referred to the Finance and Development Committee for consideration and a recommendation made to full Council.  In the meantime, available funding would be looked into and the Police would be consulted if they considered CCTV in the car park an asset to them regarding information recorded.
