BROCKLEY GREEN S.E.4 Scale
4mm - 1ft. Gauge 18.2mm ('EM') by John Wass
Size: 12ft 6ins x 20ins (3.75 x 0.5m) (plus operator space), Operators: Two, Transport: Small van or Estate car.
I present a fictitious station on the Southern Region of British Railways.
It’s on the Nunhead to Lewisham line. It is anytime in the 1960’s and in an attempt to model a feature of the “Southern Electric” system I have not seen done before in the many years I have travelled to exhibitions in this country and aboard. I have constructed the tramway overhead wire system installed at that time in certain shunting yards. My main running lines do have the conventional third rail and I have fitted two “flash” units for which I have become known for over the years.
As well as E.M.U’s there are several steam locos to be seen, from the ugly Bulleid Q1 to the beautiful ex S.E.C.R. 4-4-0 Class L.
14 feet long by 2 feet wide with a clear 6 feet required at the rear of the layout for the two, some times three, operators. Travels in a small van.
