The Tudors came to power in 1485 when Henry VII won the battle of Bosworth. The notorious Henry VIII succeeded Henry VII. He became famous because of the many wives he had. The saying:- Divorced, beheaded, died, divorced, beheaded, survived was popularised in order to keep track of what happened to them all! Alas Henry VIII's son and heir didn't live long. Instead it was his daughter Elizabeth 1 that reigned for many years.
