Welcome to the Gallery. Stroll at your leisure around this display of Alison's work. To save you from having to scroll too far, the Gallery is split into seven "rooms" - this is ROOM FOUR.

To view a larger version of each of the paintings, simply click on the relevant image. Remember, though, that the larger version has a bigger file size and will take longer to download.

Some of the paintings can be bought as cards. If so, their availability is included with the card details. Contact Alison about prices.

Piggy in the Middle
The boar stands between a Yale and an amphisbaena – two mythical creatures commonly represented in medieval bestiaries.

The Owl and the Pussycat

A fourteenth century owl and pussycat sail away in medieval style.

Girl Band

The girls play to the birds on tabor, cymbals, recorder, symphony, fiddle and organ.

Oxford, St Frideswide

Patron saint of the city and University of Oxford, Frideswide escaped the unwelcome attentions of a royal suitor by hiding in the woods near Bampton for three years. The little face of the sainted lady appears through the leaves of her hiding place.

Edinburgh, St Giles

A celebration of the cathedral and its patron St Giles with a background design of thistles and Green Men inspired by the carved decorations in the cathedral.

If you come from outside the UK you might not have joined the millions who tune in to the programme every day. So, to give you a taste of what you have been missing, try visiting the Archers page on the BBC website. You can read up about the programme and even listen to the "everyday tales of farming folk", as they like to bill it! But beware… you will end up being hooked!
