This is a really easy to use image editor. No knowledge of this type of program is needed at all, anyone can use it with great results. Loads of different functions / effects and it comes with a picture 'Frame Maker' too. The program is designed for a screen resolution of 1024x768

Make your own Animated Cursors by Importing Animated Gifs or AVI files, edit individual frames, adjust timing, add transparency etc. You can also export files to Gif & AVI & Flash, so you can turn small AVI clips into Gif Animations ! (Quality isn't always that good though !) You could easily use this an as Animated Gif Editor in conjuction with a Graphics program, there are lost of uses if you use your imagination.

Easily make your own 3D box in seconds, so easy to use and manipulate. When you've made your box rotate it to any angle you like. Export to JPEG or BMP, no antialiasing so edges get a bit 'rough' on smaller images.

A VERY clever and ingenious Image viewer, easily the best I have come across. In full screen mode just move your move to each screen corner for easy instant access to the most used features. It has loads of features such as 'Batch Conversion, Image editing (crop, resize, colour adjustments etc) , Drawing board, Frame Mask, Instant magnification, to name but a few. Sadly I find it a little slow and large Images that are made to 'Auto Fit' aren't very good quality, also it isn't very compatible with that many formats, other than that, a superb program !

Easily the most popular Image viewer, very fast and lots of Image adjusting features as above. Very multi format compatible with various 'Plug Ins' to enhance it further and good quality viewing. Personally I find it a little 'buggy' though and it feels 'basic' after using FastStone.

An excellent Graphics / Image editor, nice and easy to use, loads of filters and advanced features and many free plug ins available. The free version doesn't support multiple layers.

Hugely underrated and often overlooked Microsoft Paint Image editor. Nothing 'flash' just very straightforward and easy to use. You don't need to download it because you already have it on your PC ! Go To ...'Programs..Accessories...Paint'.

Quite an Impressive complete Graphics editor this. Not only does it have all the normal editing functions (Including Layer support) but it is Animated Gif compatible too, not even the £50+ Paint Shop software can do that ! So actually you have 2 programs in one, also you would be 'hard pushed' to find an expensive Animated Gif program that can adjust the Brightness & Contrast etc of the frames like this can. It may have trouble 'handling' some Ani Gifs if they have been optimized. Please Note.. Do you have hundreds of different Fonts on your PC and can never find the right one for a particular 'job' ? This is by far the best Font viewer available, view all your Fonts in any colour, size & type of text.

TINY program that just instantly seperates an Animated Gif file into it's seperate frames. Remove the Gifs Transparent background first (If it has one !). The output directory folder doesn't work, the files will just be placed on the Root drive of what ever folder you selected.

TINY program that builds an Animated Gif from seperate images in a split second ! Just drag the images into the window, select the frame delay then click 'Make Gif', It's as easy as that. If you drag in a group of images at the same time then make sure you drag in from Frame No.1 or the order gets 'messed' up !

A MUST have colour picker. If you want to know what the exact colour of something is then just drag the Magnified Pipette over it and you wil get the precise colour displayed in both RGB & HTML Hex code.

Make your own 3D pictures ! Take 2 photo's at slightly different angles, load them into this program, merge the two and then print it off. Obviously you will need a pair of 3D Glasses to go with it !

Microsofts own Animated Gif maker / editor. Very easy to use and just has a few basic functions, if you just want something simple then you will like this. Also can convert Animated Gifs to the AVI Movie format, not very good qulaity though !

Clever program that easily roates your pictures to ANY angle you like. Works well and is so easy to use. Please Note, on my PC this uses a HUGE amount of CPU usage so it is unlikely to work on slow computers if you get the same 'trouble'.

Get creative and make your own Icons. Easy to use, import Icons & 'Re Work' them or make your own. Choose for 16x16, 32x32 & 48x48, add text , add transparency 'buttonize' Also has a 'capture' tool to turn pictures directly into Icons.

One for the budding Animator. Easliy make Animations / Stories with the pre made stick people, animals & objects. Just click your mouse on a joint, move it where you want and click 'next frame' You can create your own people or animals etc and save them as templates. This will keep your Kids (Well you too!) quiet for hours !!!

Not a downloadable program but a Great free website that can Edit your Animated Gifs online. Add / replace transparency, change colours, add effects , text and resize / crop. If you only work with the odd Animation it saves downloading and installing software !

Add moving water, rain, ripples and snow to images/photo's and then save them as 'Gif/Avi or Flash' files. Basically very easy to use but can be a little frustrating at times when making adjustments for that 'final touch'. On my PC it uses huge amounts of CPU resources and the preview image is always slower than the actual result ( I have a 3ghz pen4HT !) Also output files will always tend to be quite large, especially if you choose to make Animated Gifs. See my two demo's I made to give you an idea of what it can do. An excellent program overall !
