Heart Spark Night - 5th June 2002Wednesday 5th was Heart Spark night - a 4 mile Trail Race and a 2K Fun Run from Woodham Technical College, organised by Paul Harker and Newton Aycliffe AC in support of the Cardiac Ward of James Cook Hospital. Philip Fitzpatrick of Richmond and Zetland Harriers was first across the line in the 2K. He was followed by teammate Jessica Gray, second place and first girl, with twin sister Scarlett fourth girl in fifth place overall.Northern Mens League Chester-le-Street - 8th June 2002Match 2 in the Northern Mens League Division 4NE was hosted by Chester-le-Street at their Riverside Stadium on Saturday 8th. Although there were several athletes missing through exam revision, work commitments and Army exercises, the six runners and one thrower who made-up the Harriers team were up to the task. Three A-string wins from John Wild in the hammer, discus and shot (plus a second place in the javelin, just 1m38 away from a clean sweep of the throwing events), two more wins from Dan Brooks in the 400m and 110 m hurdles and a virtual time trial in the 5000m with Jon Orange leading all the way from the gun, gave the team their second consecutive League win.Results NML 8th June |
