Northern Counties Junior Track & Field 24th May 2003Carl Outhwaite and Georgina Zissler travelled to Liverpool to compete in the Northern Counties Junior T&F Championships and both came back pleased with their efforts. Carl was 5th in the final of the hammer, throwing a PB 36m75, 10 cm further than his Coach John Wild threw to break his own Club record last season, albeit with a lighter hammer. Georgina ran 27.42 for 200m, a season’s best and was unlucky not to make the final.Raby Castle Fun RunThe Gray twins chose to run at Raby Castle, near Staindrop, in the 5K Fun Run and had both an enjoyable and successful day in scenic surroundings. Scarlett was the one who came out on top, showing the sort of form that brought early season success in Cross-Country last winter. Scarlett was first girl in 22:27 with Jessica close behind in fifth place.Melmerby 10K & Fun RunPhilip Fitzpatrick was another winner, closer to home in the 2¼ mile Fun Run at Melmerby, continuing his run-of-success in local races. Colin Sewell was the lone Harrier in the Melmerby 10K, enjoying his run despite the damp conditions and finishing in 40:28.
