On the same day, three Harriers travelled to Carlisle to compete in an Open X-C meeting. In her first ever competition, Cory Fowden ran one small lap and came a creditable 7th out of 24 in the Under 11 Girls Race and her sister Francesca Fowden won the Under 13 Girls race over 1 large 2.4K lap in 10:06, stretching away from the field in the last 400m to finish clear by over 50m. Fiona Hughes, Club Coach, Manager and Athlete, continued her recent, literal run-of-good-form with 4th place in the Senior Ladies over 2 large laps, commenting that “only 3 Under 17 Boys ahead of me, plus the 3 Senior ladies obviously! and the Senior Ladies were at least 11 years younger than me”.
