Snape 10K and Fun Run - Saturday 11th September 2004The weekend’s fixtures got underway at 11am on Saturday 11th with the 16th running of the Snape 10K and 5K Fun Run and Richmond and Zetland Harriers had 24 members, friends and family on the line. A fine morning after a mere sprinkling of rain overnight meant that the grassy sections of the run weren’t slippery although Mrs Donaldson’s promise of “a feast of home-baked goodies at the Village Institute” after the race was encouragement enough. There were over a hundred runners in each race and the Harriers earned their share of the trophies with James Wardman and ex-Harrier Scarlett Gray finishing first Male and Female in the 10K, Douglas and Jessie Roberts finishing similarly in the 5K and the latter two leading the Allertonshire School to first place in both boys and girls teams.
