Ten Pin Bowling Social Sunday 3rd April 2005
The Harriers 2005 Ten-pin Bowling Tournament at The White Rose Bowl, Catterick Garrison, on Sunday 3/4 was won by Ray Robson. The top four bowlers were separated by just 5 points but Ray held his nerve through to the final ball, to pip Ken Harker 131 to 130, and take the inaugural Shield back to Arrathorne.
London Marathon Club Results and Sweepstake
The London Marathon Sweepstake was won by the football-playing brother of two sisters that run for the Harriers. Jack Adams of Great Smeaton guessed that the time of the winner plus those of Shaun Purkiss and Mike Brooks would total 8:23:42 and was just 51 seconds out. He wins £68.80; Calum Wadsworth and Julian Mawson of Otley pick-up the minor prizes and SportsAid benefit by more than £160.00.
