Neil reports that “this is one of the easier challenge events and was won in 3.12 hours, while myself and wife Liz completed the course in 4.40 hours.” A week later, he was back on the fells again for the infamous Three Peaks Race, which took place in excellent conditions. It is a gruelling event, which has cut-off times for those taking part, to ensure the safety of competitors and this year saw 36 people forced to withdraw. Neil beat the cut-off times comfortably to finish in 313th position, with a very respectable time of 5.02 hours.
