On the road, Sarah Gregory made the journey over to Freckleton near Preston, to take part in what is the oldest half marathon in the world, on Sunday 18th June. The weather was warm and humid and the course undulating, making for slower rather than faster distance racing. Finding the pace proved more difficult than usual and the race didn’t seem to flow for Sarah, however, she crossed the line in solid time of 1.42.34 in 181st place from 476 runners, only 4 minutes behind the legendary 1989 London Marathon winner, Veronique Marot.

Paul Goad was another, who took to the fells on Tuesday 20th June for the Whorlton Fell Race near Stokesley. This race had 1080 feet of climbing over a distance of 7 miles and Paul was in good form to finish in 60.30 in 57th position.
