Richmond and Zetland second claim member Andrea Woodvine, has been an extremely busy athlete over the past eight months, achieving some extremely impressive results indeed. She has been in magnificent form, which began with her debut marathon at London in April, where she joined the elite women’s field and finished in an amazing time of 2.45.49, making her the 20th woman across the line; an outstanding achievement in itself.
Andrea was then selected to run in the Toronto marathon for Team England on 28th September, looking to improve on her time from London, but unfortunately she was unwell during the race and clocked a slower time, but still finished in 16th place, taking Team England to the bronze medal and third place overall.
Earlier in the year Andrea also represented Team GB at the World University Cross Country Championships in France, crossing the line in 18th place and helping the British team to take the gold medal. Not content with this, she has achieved no less than four “personal best” times this year over varying distances, which are now 16.39 for 5K, 35.32 for 10,000m on the track, 34.39 for 10K on the road and 75.56 for the half marathon, all of an exceptionally high standard, showing that she is certainly an athlete with the potential to be selected to represent Team GB once again in the future.
