Saturday 13th July he competed Highland Games Fell Race at Alva in Scotland, finishing 16th and 4th Vet and commenting on the steepness of the course - both uphill and downhill. On Sunday 21st the race was nearer and less severe and Gary was more competitive; Farleton Knot near Keswick, 8th place although again 4th Vet. Last Sunday, with several Seniors at the Commonwealth Games in Manchester (only spectating!), the Juniors took centre-stage at the Burton Leonard 2 mile Fun Run. On a very hot and over a hilly course, there were wins for Philip Fitzpatrick (1st male), Scarlett Gray (1st female), Jessica Gray, Sophie Broadway and Leanne Shaw (1st, 2nd and 3rd under 13 girls) plus Rebecca Shaw (1st under 9 girl) and all age-group winners received trophies.
