The FED 3 Type II is flash synchronized (for X and M - export models only) and has a self timer. Diopter adjustment is achieved by rotating the ring around the eyepiece on the back of the camera. Cameras fitted with the Industar-61 lens were designated FED 3L. This refers to the Lanthanum used in the manufacture of the lens.

This model is similar to the FED 3 Type I. It does, however, have a re-designed top plate (no step) and is fitted with a lever wind.

Cameras were also sold as the Revue 3 by a German mail order firm (Quelle) during the 1970's.
