S in Latin and this model is sometimes referred to as the FED S.
The FED - C differs from the normal FED models of the time by having a
top shutter speed of 1000 and the FED 2/50 (shown here) as a standard
lens. The FED - C can be found with both Type
II and III engraving on the top plate.
