This final version of the Periflex 1 differed from versions 1 and 2 as follows:
•
Body covering is black leather cloth (version 1 was covered with brown
pigskin and version 2 with black leather).
• The shutter speeds are on a separate
plate, with the speed knob in its centre (on versions 1 and 2 the speeds
are engraved directly into the top plate).
As on earlier models, focusing is by periscope viewfinder. Pressing a button
on the periscope housing (the vertical cylinder in the centre of the top
plate) lowers a mirror into the light path of the lens, thus allowing through
the lens focusing. Releasing the button allows the mirror to return to its
original position.
The contact below the shutter button on the front of the body is for flash synchronization (M).
This model was available in either black or silver finish.
