The Shanghai 58-I has separate rangefinder and viewfinder windows (these are combined on the Shanghai 58-II).

This camera was not manufactured with flash synchronization, although examples are known with flash sockets on the front. Presumably, these were modified later.

Diopter adjustment is fitted (operated by the lever below the film rewind knob).

Only the standard lens was produced by the factory for this camera.
