This
camera, which is identical to the Nicca IIIS (later Nicca Type-IIIS),
was produced exclusively for Sears Roebuck. It has flash synchronization
for M and X (1/20). The viewfinder window has diopter adjustment.
Variant:
The
Tower-3S pictured in Leica Copies has engraving
similar to the Tower Type-3 shown on this site
(with
the addition of an
S
after the 3).
That camera does not have a film type reminder. The camera pictured bottom
right
(which
has a 52xxx number) has the engraving shown below, and a film type reminder
in the wind-on knob. It may be that it is more akin to the Nicca 3-S, which
does have a film
type reminder, than the Nicca lllS
