Although this camera does have a screw mount for the lens it is not identical to the Leica thread. It is, therefore, included in 'look-alikes' rather than under Leica copies.

Production of the Canon J-II (J stands for Junior) began in 1945, initially using pre-war parts.

The pictured camera has a cover, held by three screws, in place of a slow speed dial.

The engraving on the film advance and rewind knobs consists of a diamond pattern.
