In his mind's eye, she was like a thing of great beauty amidst a blasted landscape, an ageless shrine for adoration and devotion, a sculpture somehow still standing unspoiled in a ruined world... Treading the path through storms of light and shadow, he scaled great heights in his quest, a solitary voyage towards a distant beacon: a lone wonder deathly white... But, silent and cold, she returns his gaze, knowing his pain, yet remains unmoved, and unmoving... The hope he dreamed of was but a dream?
