Pastoral Care

Astbury School has a reputation for being a caring family school.  Children understand the need to care and look after one other.  In particular they are taught to value human relationships within the ‘school family’.  Throughout their time at the school children are encouraged and eventually expected, to take responsibility for their own behaviour.  To facilitate this, each class negotiates a set of ‘ground rules’.  Children are rewarded for keeping to the rules via team points, stickers and class treats.

‘A high standard of pastoral care, guidance and support is provided. Each pupil is known as an individual and made to feel an important member of the school’s special family. There are rigorous procedures for safeguarding children, risk assessments and health and safety.’
