Hello, good evening and welcome

Thursday 28 August, 2008

And here we go. For some time now I have toyed with the idea of using this web space but didn't quite know what to do with it. Having just spent nearly two wonderful weeks on leave from work with very little to do (a conscious decision), I have decided to just 'go with it' and see what happens. I've been reacquainting myself with Adobe Dreamweaver and now getting to know Contribute and hey, now I have a blog!

That's not the end of it though. I have been meaning to pick up my photography again for some time now so there will be a section for that. Then there's my illustration and design - another section. I'm teaching myself ActionScript 3 too so watch out for the experimental Flash section too.

All in all then this should be quite a busy little place going forward so please, if there's anything you want to say, don't hesitate to drop me a line and please, click on the WWF link below. They need your support.

Its amazing what you can do if you put your mind to it. After two days of my limited amount of hair out I have finally figured out how to get the 'drop shadow' around the border of a web page. Simple stuff I hear you say but I'm still proper chuffed with myself! My CSS education is steaming ahead too although there are still some things that leave me cold but I'll get there. I even managed to find out how to get an icon beside the web address in the address bar and the favourites. I don't care how basic this all is there is still a certain satisfaction when you see it happen.

I have managed to get the other pages in the site up onto the server now so it only remains for me to get content on to them...watch this space.

What a week!

Well, well well...King Kev's gone, Mike Ashley is no longer the hero (didn't take long did it?) and Dennis Wise is still a pariah! (as ever).

Just what is it about Newcastle United that causes such controversy? As a Geordie who left Newcastle some fifteen years ago I find it sad that to this day they still haven't achieved what, as a team they and the fans deserve. Here's hoping that it will all get sorted really soon.

I've just added a link to my nephew's web site, Daniel Turnbull Photography. Daniel is a promising photographer concentrating on fashion who has a refreshing view on what's happening and being at Newcastle College with the designers he's photographing gives him a unique insight into the future of the frock! Have a look.

Had a wonderful lunch at The grill on the alley today. Not under the best of circumstances...one of our team was leaving! Go though, have the beef carpaccio and follow it with the sashimi tuna loin...you wont be disappointed.
