Tia
Maria Mardi Gras
It started Very Thundery, which was kind of appropriate for a day of tropical music. Pat decided to go for the hall at Great Chesterford rather than the lawn at Audley End. But we looked good anyway. Gilly had done a beautiful centrepiece with sunflowers and wheat and oats to celebrate Lammas, the time of harvest. A Johnny Depp look-alike stunned the ladies with Rum and the ancient and hopeful gift of Throwbeads...well, actually, he probably stunned the men even more. But the music was the star. Salsa, Tango, Mambo, Miserlou, you name it. Fabulous! Spicy and energetic and irresistable. Pat's cd is available from her, and you could no doubt book her to teach - in her excellent, charismatic, inimitable style - the set. Her email is patwelch@classicsq.wanadoo.co.uk
