I had often wondered if Arthur had been presented his VC by the King. I therefore wrote to Buckingham Palace for information. The letter was passed onto the Royal Archives which are based in Windsor Castle. I received this letter from the Registrar and it indicates that Arthur was given his VC by King George himself but also that them must have talked about things - the King later entering the fact into his diary as shown below.
