My name is Brian Wollaston and I have been researching my family tree for about ten years.

The original spelling of the family name was Woollaston, and all early signatures are spelt that way.  However, when my father joined the Royal Flying Corps, the spelling changed from the double 'o' to the single 'o'.  The rest of the family still use the double 'o'.

I was born in Wolverhampton and started my formal education at St. Luke's Infant and Junior Schools, Bromley Street.  Recently we had a reunion, some 50 years on.

I now live in Gloucestershire but I am not the only 'wanderer', as different branches of my family originated in different parts of the country.
