Children
From 1st marriage to Mary Hill
Stephen and his first wife Mary had
eleven children, my 2nd Great Grandfather being the fourth.
Their last child died when he was only 6 months old. I have
only found christening records for their first four and last
child. Frank emigrated to America in 1870, closely followed
by Luke. Frank stayed but Luke returned back to Westbury with
his wife Lucy and their first two children (my Great Grandfather).

Gardener and Soldier in Royal Army Medical
Corps |
Henry got his middle name of Hasker from
his mothers first marriage to Edward Hasker. Following in
both his parents footsteps as he not only married twice but
three times. Henry and his first wife appeared to have only
had one child (1911 census), however on his army enlistment
form in 1914 he is noted as married but with no children,
if their daughter died inbetween 1911-1914 I can find no record
of it.
Henry's first wife Amy died in 1938 aged 78, he then remarried
in 1841 to a Edith Augusts, a widow the same age as him. His
second wife died only a few years later in 1948 aged 71 and
Henry very swiftly remarried only a few months later (still
in 1948) to another Edith, who was a mere twenty seven
years his junior (taking after his father again)! The spinster
Edith Alexina was 43 when she married Henry and they had no
children together. Not surprisingly she outlived Henry who
died in 1959 aged 81. Edith Alexina died thirty four years
later in 1993 aged 88, she never remarried after Henry's death.
