Canterbury Pubs
Closed Pubs

Canterbury's independent pub website since 1996 (on and off!)
Brewers Delight
Address: 33 Broad Street, CT1 2LR
Pub Company: Shepherd Neame
Dates: Closed autumn 2003, now residential
Photo: June 2001

When it was still open we said, "The only brewer to be delighted with this pub is one wanting to go out of business, considering the number of people that seem to visit". Because we so so unimpressed the first few times we went, we eventually stopped bothering to check place out again. It'd just be us, a couple of regulars and a bored student band in the corner. As a Shepherd Neame pub, it has joined its former brewery-brother down the road, the Royal Dragoon (which closed in 1997), in converted-to-residential hell.
