This unsettled pub finally gave up after more name changes than any other pub I know. It never really had much of a reputation, and the pub scene of Canterbury was not a lot poorer as a result of its demise. In its final months, the pub building was used as a temporary Stagecoach East Kent bus travel office. Towards the end of 2000, like most of the surrounding area, it was demolished to make way for the new Whitefriars Shopping Centre.
